Chlamydia & Gonorrhoea Testing & Treatment
We offer Chlamydia/Gonorrhea tests in our pharmacy for both males and females. Please call us or visit our pharmacy to find out more.
Patients can request tests for Chlamydia via the Chlamydia screening centres to be collected at the Leybourne Pharmacy.
Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea are both very common bacterial infections that are sexually transmitted and can be very easily treated with antibiotics. Often these infections can be present with no symptoms and if left untreated they can cause potential long-term problems including affecting fertility.
It can take up to 2 weeks after sexual contact for a test to pick up these infections therefore it may be necessary to repeat the tests to cover any window periods. We advise screening regularly, particularly after any partner changes.
