For adults and children, the In-store COVID-19 Testing Program (PCR) is ideal. It's not suitable for
someone with COVID-19 symptoms or for someone who suspects they may have COVID-19. A
free NHS COVID-19 examination can be accessed for those with coronavirus symptoms. Use the

In-House Supervised self - testing 

We offer a fully assisted testing service, carried out in our private consultation room which is fully supervised by a professional pharmacist. We then courier your test directly to the Government approved testing centre. Once received your results and PCR certificate will be emailed directly to you within 24 hours*.

Please determine when you need your test done. Work out the time as the test centre will issue
the test result time based on when you did the test.

Please make sure you don’t eat, drink, chew gum, smoke or brush your teeth at least 20 minutes
before you take the mouth and nasal swab test. Doing this can contaminate your sample, which
may result in it needing a retest and therefore, delaying your result.
It is NON REFUNDABLE – so if the transit for your test has taken longer or there is an issue at the test centre, as we are independent of both entities, we cannot be liable for any late results.
We will ensure that your test results get sent off to the lab to reach them by 9.30 to 10 am.

If you're going overseas, before ordering a test, please review the COVID test criteria stated by
your travel destination and/or airline carrier. Results can usually be obtained within 48 hours
Tests reaching the lab before 9.30am will be processed generally, giving results between 5pm
and midnight that day, but can take longer if any issues at the lab or tests not received on time,
thus give up 48 hours to receive your test results via email.

There are some special requirements for people entering certain countries. It is the case for travellers to Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong that we have been asked about so far. We can help with extra certifications, like a signed medical doctor letters etc. for an extra £30 per person.


1. Is a Covid-19 test required for travel to Hong Kong?

We can offer your Covid-19 PCR test and Fit to Fly certificate if you are flying Cathay Pacific from England to Hong Kong. However, we are presently unable to give your test and certificate if you are travelling on British Airways owing to differing rules.


It is up to the travellers to satisfy themselves 100% of what the requirements are before making the purchase. Each test is registered and will not be refunded but can be used at a later date or for another purpose. FAQ'S for PCR test

What is a PCR test?

  A polymerase chain reaction test (PCR) is performed to detect genetic material from a specific organism, such as a virus.

How is the test carried out?

The test is carried out in a private consultation room and is supervised by a professional pharmacist who will guide you through the correct procedure. The test is quick and simple to use and involves just a swap at the back of the throat and nose. 

How accurate is the test?

The tests have 100% specificity and 98% sensitivity making them highly reliable. We use an FDA approved kit, and all samples are processed at a GCLP laboratory which features on the Government website which lists recommended and approved testing laboratories. 

How long will it take for my results to come back?

 Once the sample has reached the laboratory, results will be available within 24 hours*.

Can you guarantee my results will come in time? 

*In nearly all cases results will be emailed within 24 hours however a small percentage of samples will need to be re-tested and will be available after 48 hours. 

How will I receive my results?

The results including the PCR certificate will be emailed directly to you.

Where are you located? 

The pharmacy is situated on the Sussex University campus. With ample free parking located directly behind the building.

 How are the samples sent? 

The samples are sent by courier or a guaranteed next day trackable royal mail service.

What do I need to bring with me?

All we require you to bring is your Passport.

Red, amber and green list rules for entering England

The countries and territories on the green list are listed here.

Travellers will need to:

  • Take a private Covid test in their holiday destination before returning home - this can be a lateral flow or PCR test
  • Fill in a passenger locator form online before leaving their destination
  • Take a private PCR test on or before day two of their arrival in England

There will be no need to quarantine when back home, or take additional tests, unless the post-arrival test is positive.

Amber countries

Travellers must:

  • Take a private Covid test before returning to England
  • Fill in a passenger locator form online before heading home
  • Self-isolate at home for 10 days
  • Take a private PCR test on or before day two of their arrival in England and again on day eight

They could end self-isolation early by taking an optional PCR test on day five, under the existing test to release scheme.

  • from 19 July, arrivals who have been fully vaccinated with an NHS administered vaccine in the UK (plus 14 days), or are on a formally approved UK vaccine clinical trial, returning to England from amber list countries will no longe.r need to quarantine – passengers will need to provide proof of their vaccination status to carriers in advance of travel
  • pre-departure testing and day 2 testing measures to remain
  • children under the age of 18 to be exempt from quarantine on returning to England from amber countries.
